Adoption!
Orphans of
the Storm provides adoption services to help you find the pet who will
fit into your lifestyle.
Your new pet
will be up-to-date on vaccinations including an 8-way distemper, rabies, &
bordatella. All pets are started on Revolution monthly heartworm, flea and
tick prevention and come with 2 months of free pet health insurance .
Our animals are all avid (micro-chipped) and have a lifetime
registration.
Dogs are also
heartworm tested, and stool checked and wormed if needed.
 Cats have a 4-way vaccination,
if over 12 weeks a rabies vaccination, stool checked & wormed if needed. Cats are also leukemia tested and combo
tested if over 6 months of age. They also have their leukemia
vaccination started.
THE
ADOPTION PROCESS
1.
Potential adopter meets the animal and completes a pre-adoption certificate.
2. There
is a three day
waiting period while Orphans of the Storm verifies that the animal is
able to be properly cared for in its new home.
COST: To help defray these costs,
the charge for a dog starts at $60, plus the cost of spaying or neutering. The
cost of adopting a cat is $65 for felines over 12 weeks and $60 if
under 12 weeks. If they come to us already altered, the cost is $35. Once in awhile an animal has to have additional medical care done
to make it available for adoption and we may add additional money to
help defray those costs.
All animals
are altered before
leaving the shelter!
